SATAYA DOLPHIN REEF

Shaab Sataya dolphin reef, also known as Dolphin House Marsa Alam, is a rare gem, offering one of the world’s most unique opportunities. It’s a place where you can get up close to and swim with dolphins in their natural habitat, a privilege that few get to experience. Sataya dolphin reef , or Dolphin house Marsa Alam, is part of the Fury Shoal system in the Hamata region of Marsa Alam in southern Egypt. Its most distinctive feature is the presence of a pod of permanently residing spinner dolphins. This fantastic reef provides a unique and privileged opportunity to monitor dolphins in their natural habitat.

The Marsa Alam Taxi Services representative will pick you up by car from your hotel or resort in time to arrive at Hamata at about 09.00 am. We will sail from Hamata for 1,5 hours to reach our destination Sataya dolphin reef or Dolphin house Marsa Alam. This is the reef where a large pod of spinner dolphins has found residence. Here, you can admire amazing, playful dolphins in full flesh. Suddenly, before you realize it, you are likely to be surrounded by surfacing dolphins. Curious by nature, they can come very close to you, sometimes even at touching distance. However, as tempting and cuddly as they appear, you should never touch a dolphin.

During our sea trip we make a snorkelling stop-over. Against the backdrop of a coral jungle, you can admire  bluespotted stingrays, devil corpionfish, blue-spine unicornfish, royal angelfish and the longnose hawkfish. Sometimes green turtles come floating by.

Our Team on the boat will serve an open lunch buffet, freshly prepared on board. During this sea trip, the saloon is open for coffee, tea, mineral water and soft drinks.

En route back to the shore, we’ll head for one of the other reefs for another snorkelling session.
