You will have the opportunity to delve into the heart of the desert, the natural habitat of the Bedouins.  

Marsa Alam Taxi Services will transport you from your hotel or resort to the desert scene by 4WD Toyota Land Cruiser. At the Camel Yard collection point near Port Ghalib, you’ll first practice driving a quad.

We will continue our journey in the jeeps for a 20-km trip through the desert. Before reaching our destiny, an authentic Bedouin village, your guide will explain everything about the famous Acacia tree, with its roots digging deep to survive in the hot desert climate.

After a hospitable welcome with freshly brewed aromatic Arabian tea, you’ll mount your quad for a desert valley tour at Wadi om Gaig. Bedouins use camels for transportation, and to experience the Bedouin way of life, you will ride a camel under expert supervision.

During a sightseeing tour, you will familiarise yourself with Bedouin traditions, folklore, culture, and lifestyle. You’ll see Bedouin women baking traditional flatbread from flour and water, how locals gain water from the village well, and how tea is prepared following an ancient recipe. You may even try shisha, the local water pipe!

We’ll take you to a hill for a wonderful panoramic view and a fascinating view of the sun setting in the heart of the desert.

Then we will return to the village tent, where we will serve you a delicious open BBQ buffet dinner with grilled chicken, kofta, potatoes, pasta, rice,  bread, fruits and soft drinks.

With a traditional Bedouin party to follow, you can listen to melodious Bedouin folk songs and practice dancing to Egyptian music! Before we bring you to your hotel, look up in the sky to gaze at hundreds of twinkling stars. It feels as if you are in an open-air planetarium!
