The beach at it has easy access to the ocean with an average depth of 3 meters. It is ideal for swimmers who snorkel and are of all different ages. It is perfect for beginner and advanced divers.

Abu Dabbab’s Dugongs

The most well-known resident marine animals are dugongs and eels, but the possibility of seeing either is an unavoidable event. But if you’re at beaches, do be aware of the snorkelers since you will typically sense the excitement if you spot a dugong. 

However, please don’t rush into the water so fast that you and your companions will frighten the animal, which could cause it to flee deep into the ocean.

You’ll be amazed at how fast the dugong swims, even though Egyptian dugongs weigh as much as 500kg and can swim with an average speed of 10km/hour. They can reach bursts of speeds up to 20km/hour.

Marine Animals and Fish

There are also times when you will find titan triggerfish, gorgeous green pufferfish triangular trunkfish Trevallies, occasionally giant barracudas, fast-moving guitar rays and even gentle guitar sharks.

In the fringing reefs, you could also spot stone fish, sea scorpions and massive stingrays. As you get deeper into the water, be prepared for unexpected events of all kinds. A giant whale shark was recently seen.
